Studies on the Dust Collector by Bubble and Foam(1)
-On the Properties of Pressure Drop and Efficiency of Dust Collection-

Tomoyuki SENO and Atsushi OHGA

Summary

The dust collection equipment has a significant meaning to improve for the dust environment in and out of the facility area.
A new system of dust collection was developed, which collects the dust by bubble and foam (BDC).
It was obtained that the collection efficiency of BDC to the rough rice dust was over 99.9 %.
To evaluate the performance of the dust collection device, a new parameter was taken, i.e. the ratio of the mean diameter of emitted dust (E) from the device to the mean diameter of original dust (O), which represented the ratio of E/O.
It was proved that the mechanism of BDC was major effect by the collision of inertia of the dust particles to the liquid surface.
